‘I am calm, whenever and wherever I am attacked. I have no attachment
to life or death. I leave everything that is to God. Be free from attachment to life
and death and maintain a mind that leaves everything to Him, not only when
you are attacked, but also in everyday life. True budo is a work of love. It is
the labor of giving life to all beings and not killing, not fighting with anyone.
Love is the guardian of the divine in everything. Nothing can exist without it.
Aikido is the realization of love. To follow the path means to be one with the will
of God and to practice it. If we stray even a little from this, we are no longer on the
path. One can say that Aikido is a way of exorcising demons not with a sword,
but with the sincerity of our breath. In other words, it is a way of transforming
the world of the demonic mind into the world of the Spirit. Such is the mission
of Aikido. The demonic mind will be defeated, and the Spirit will triumph.
Then Aikido will bear fruit in this world. I want to call upon people to listen to
the voice of Aikido. It serves not to correct others, but to correct one’s own mind.
