thinking it was the same as what I had advised him. And likewise with the SIM
card — or rather, the number — he didn’t change it, but kept it, because, as he
justified to me, he was saying that he had only set up this number two months
ago, and that almost no one knew this number anyway. And the point is — these
justifications were from his mind, which was also holding him back, so that he
would still remain attached to the social mass, to his old world, and to his old
personality. And my acquaintance didn’t understand that, by distorting a little
what had needed to be done — that was already a mistake. He wasn’t taking into
account the fact that even if you’ve cleaned up your social media account, but kept
it, it is still from that old world. And the point is — people who are hostages of the
mind and of the social mass, they still try to do something… they want to cross
over to the next level, to free themselves, complaining about their old life — but
at the same time, they still keep certain things from their old life, which is why
they leave this door open, and consequently, because of this, they return and slide
back. They don’t sever these connections, don’t burn the bridges.
Such a person is thinking with his mind — and his mind is bustle, fear. Because
if you don’t feed this mind, it will switch off — and this mind tells the person:
“Keep your photos — after all, you’ll never have them again. Maybe you’ll never
travel again, and here you have photos from your travels. Move them onto your
hard drive. And delete them from the social networks — but keep them on the
hard drive, so they’ll be there.” And that’s it! And the point is — if a person
does this — then what he has deleted from everywhere, while keeping it on the
hard drive — that doesn’t count as freeing oneself from the mind. The mind
has hedged its bets again, and deceived the person. You see how interestingly
all of this is set up?
And I suddenly remember this. And I understand that I am walking through
this very path myself right now, and that I am in the place of that namesake
acquaintance of mine. And that my mind, all this time, has been trying to deceive
me — like the expression goes: “six of one, half a dozen of the other.” That is — to
swap one thing for another, but with no use. That’s the mistake, the trap. And it
turns out that everything is very simple, what needs to be done. I have started to
realize all of this, to feel all of this over these past 5 hours… I understood that,
