what is the custom? A kitty crawls on the asphalt in the rain, you want to pick it
up, to save it. A dog limps, you want to feed it. A hooligan beats another hooligan
across the street, you want to go sort it out, to defend. What’s most curious, I
always used to write in my books: “By no means do this,” because back then I
was in the Spirit. I myself didn’t know why one must act this way. But I said that
only this is correct, because this Spirit was within me. I had no explanation for it.

Of course, half the people condemned me, didn’t agree, wrote in the comments
under the chapters of my books that it’s nonsense, that I’m a very rude, unfeeling
person. It’s clear that it’s characteristic of them to appraise this way in the world
of people, they all judge one another this way, they’re all forever terrible and
guilty from birth — that’s all clear. But we’re now speaking already of when we do
climb out of this little swamp, and if we’re to speak of the Spirit and the world of
the Spirit, then there everything works such that all of this is already a trap, an
illusion for you. It’s all the matrix, the system. Good, bad — it’s all the matrix and
the system all the same. If you want to come out of it, to get outside of time and
space, then even if they tell you: “Please, some little bird has gotten tangled in the
wires, untangle it,” if you feel that it clenches at your soul and doesn’t respond,
the Spirit tells you not to — then it means not to. But if you begin with the mind to
listen to people and with the mind to think, well, what about the little bird, you’re
not committing anything sinful, after all — then you return to the game of people,
to the world of people. It’s for them that these traps are set out. There people
are driven by either this or that: someone by aggression, someone by sympathy,
by regret — forever someone wants to save someone, forever someone wants
to punish someone. Both the one and the other — this is the world of people. If
you’re the Spirit, you pass by this and leave these games for people. It’s for them
that the games are set out. Let these children develop. You’ve already had your
fill of playing at this.

and don’t fall for provocations yourself.” When I, you might say, left the Spirit,
