The main explanation (the most widespread among Christians):
• These are not seven different spirits, but one Holy Spirit in His fullness and
perfection.
• The number 7 in the Bible (especially in Revelation) symbolizes
fullness, completeness, perfection. Like the seven days of creation —
a complete week.

Here are these seven aspects (sometimes counted with “the Spirit of the Lord”
as the first):
1. The Spirit of the Lord
2. The Spirit of wisdom
3. The Spirit of intelligence
4. The Spirit of counsel
5. The Spirit of might (of strength, of power)
6. The Spirit of discernment
7. The Spirit of godliness (the fear of the Lord)
This is a sevenfold manifestation of one and the same Spirit, who abode fully upon
Jesus and is now given to believers. Not seven separate beings, but one Spirit, acting in
all His fullness.

Other views (for completeness)
Some old interpreters saw in the “seven spirits” seven archangels (as servants of
God), but the majority of modern Christian theologians and churches hold to the first
explanation — that it’s the symbolism of the Holy Spirit.
In my opinion, it’s a beautiful picture: one Spirit, but He is so rich that a whole “seven”
of qualities is needed to describe Him. Like a single diamond with a multitude
of facets — the same stone, but it shines differently.

The main miracles of the Holy Spirit in the Bible
1. Creation and the giving of life At the very beginning: “the Spirit of God moved upon
the face of the waters” (Gen. 1:2). He participated in the making of the world and
to this day gives life to all that lives.
2. The Incarnation of Jesus Mary conceived Jesus precisely of the Holy Spirit (Matt.
1:18–20; Luke 1:35). This is the greatest miracle — God became man.
