Next is the Sahasra section. “Sahasra is a cosmology that describes the horizontal arrangement of worlds. The four heavens of the Sensual Sphere (Kāmadhātu) occupy a limited space at the summit of Mount Sumeru. The three worlds of Brahma extend up to the mountain wall of Chakravāla, filling the entire sky. The entire system of worlds, from the realm of Great Brahma to the bottom of the waters, forms a complete structure of the cosmos (universe). This universe exists for one Great Kalpa (mahākalpa) and ends its existence by burning in fire.
Above the world of Great Brahma lie the Ābhāsvara worlds. They extend outward and contain within them thousands of individual universes, each with its own Mount Sumeru, Chakravāla wall, Sun and Moon, and four continents. Such a complete system of worlds with 1,000 universes is called a small chiliocosm. The universe of a small chiliocosm exists for 8 mahākalpas and ends its existence by submerging into water.
Above the Ābhāsvara world lies the world of Śubhakṛtsna, which unites 1,000 small chiliocosms, totaling one million ordinary universes. This great universe is called dvisāhasra-madhyama-lokadhātu, or the middle megacosm. This universe exists for 64 Great Kalpas and ends its existence by wind.” You see? There is water there, here is wind, and now it has begun. It’s all the matrix, it keeps growing, growing, growing.
“The Great Kalpa is divided into four ordinary kalpas or eons, and these eons differ from one another by the stage of evolution of the universe. Here is the sequence of these four kalpas: Vivartakalpa, the “eon of evolution” — the period when the universe unfolds its existence. Vivartasthayikalpa, the “eon of evolution-duration” — during this period, the universe remains in a stable state. Samvartakalpa, the “eon of dissolution” — during this period, the universe folds and fades away. Samvartasthayikalpa, the “eon of dissolution-duration” — during this period, the universe remains in a state of void” — that is, chaos, when everything is already destroyed. So it turns out, you see, that there is a moment when everything is being created and exists — that is Brahma, meaning morning — this is the flourishing of everything. And Vishnu and the material world represent the day after morning, when everything is in order. Then comes destruction — this is the third world, the Spirit of Justice. And further comes chaos — when everything is already destroyed, yet this state still continues, remains — and this is very curious. Well, again, these are
