This image illustrates very clearly how the Sun and Moon appear as red and white, while the dove holds the third — this is the star. See, the dead rose, the dead flower, even inverted and lifeless — that’s exactly the third element. Again, it’s like the sky, the earth, and the underworld. The sky, then, is the Sun, the God of Heaven. The Earth in this context is the Moon, the woman, that is, the Mother of God. And then there is the underworld — that is Mercury. And that morning star, maybe it’s not actually Mercury, maybe it’s just a mistake in the books, and it turns out to be another planet. Maybe it’s not Mercury. But for now, let’s assume it is.
