and inspiring texts in the Book of Enoch. As he predicted, the Messiah will appear as a savior and avenger of justice in a society full of vices and sins. This vision fits within the general Judeo-Christian eschatological teaching, where the Savior is expected to come to rescue people from darkness and lead them into a new world where the forces of evil will be finally defeated. Many considered this prophecy a foreseeing of the coming of Jesus Christ, whom Christians recognize as the Messiah. In Christianity, Jesus is viewed as the one who completed Enoch’s vision, a heavenly being sent to earth to save people and restore the connection between them and God.” There is also a mention of Judgment Day. “Enoch’s prophecies about the day of judgment present a vivid picture of divine retribution in the final battle between divine forces and the forces of evil. According to his revelation, this last judgment will concern not only all people on earth but also angels, especially fallen angels. The prophecy states that both humans and angels will be judged, and each will receive a sentence depending on their moral and spiritual conduct.” There is also a revelation of hidden knowledge. “John’s prophecy about the unveiling of hidden knowledge concerns only that, in the end, divine mysteries will be revealed to the righteous. These truths, previously hidden, will be disclosed to those who remained faithful and lived righteously. Some of the hidden knowledge mentioned in the Book of Enoch includes visions given to biblical figures — for example, how Enoch receives revelations about the cosmos and heavenly bodies, as well as the world of spirits.” Here is another one about resurrection of dead. “The final resurrection is one of the main themes in Enoch’s prophetic work, as it offers hope for eternal life to believers. According to Enoch, resurrection will be granted to those who lived righteously. The righteous will be raised from the dead to live forever. This prophecy provides a comforting vision of life after death, asserting that death is not an end but a transition to a state created by Divine power. This prophecy closely resembles the Christian teachings of the Ascension and Resurrection, where the righteous are lifted up to receive eternal life from God. Both in Enoch’s vision and Christian theology, Resurrection plays a key role as a new stage free from suffering and death. It affirms the idea that believers will be rewarded for their faithfulness, receiving a form of life that surpasses earthly existence. The significance of Enoch’s prophecy for teachings on life, death, and the afterlife in Christianity cannot be underestimated.
