“The theme of “The Resurrection of Christ” was a popular subject among medieval and Renaissance artists. Paintings dedicated to the resurrection and the appearance of the risen Christ to the disciples were created by Caravaggio, Grünewald, Peter Paul Rubens, and many others. The episode of “The Doubting of Thomas” can be found in works by Caravaggio and Rembrandt. The great Michelangelo created several graphic sketches of the Resurrection of Christ.”
