I want you to simply realize that we have a cube divided into 8 smaller cubes, and each of those 8 cubes can be divided again into 8 cubes. Because of this, additional medium-sized cubes are formed from their walls and halves. If you understand this principle with cubes, you can also understand the principle of construction, multiplication, and unfolding of all other geometric shapes, because they break down following the same pattern. Consequently, upward-pointing tetrahedrons, downward-pointing tetrahedrons, stellated octahedrons, octahedrons (rhombuses), and cuboctahedrons all unfold this way.
