But then, naturally, I ask the voice with concern:
— And who will this happen with now? I mean, who is going to test me?
— Everyone around you, those close to you. From their side, the next time
some injustice occurs, your task is to learn to react to it correctly.
And only when I cognize this and cleanse myself will I, so to speak, pass
the exam.

I said to the voice:

— Fine. What if I call or write to this employee now — let’s say, to better
go through the trials with him and test my strength. It would be better if
I brought him back to work, but now I’ll behave completely differently toward
him and pass this exam.
— No, you won’t be able to, — the aliens tell me.
— Why?
— It will be painful for you.
— What will be painful?
— It will be painful because this person will lie to your face. It will be painful
for you to hear what he’s been doing this whole time while he hasn’t been
working with you. It will be painful to continue interacting with him in work
because you will see how he doesn’t respect you — maybe he’ll even mock
you or want to belittle you in some way — and this will sting because it will
hit your personality, your dignity, and consequently, your ego.
— What does ego have to do with it? If he does something bad, naturally, I’ll be
outraged because he is at fault.
— Yes, he will do bad things, but you must not be outraged. If you are outraged,
it means you have an ego.
— Fine. So if I react when someone intentionally scratches my car right in front
of me or leaves trash at my doorstep, figuratively speaking... and I naturally
react to that... am I supposed to just not react?
— Yes, you must not react. It shouldn’t concern you because these are humans;
you are in the world of humans, but you must become deified and be above this.
Instead, like humans, you start reacting to it, just as they are always provoking
one another and everyone remains a hostage to each other.
