— Fine, I’m ready. Tell me what to do? How? You know verbatim what he needs
right now. Let me write him a message; what do I need to write so that he
says ‘yes’?
— Well, for now, just write to him.

I write to the employee: “Hey, let’s meet up.” And the aliens tell me: “Now he
will say ‘no’ to you.” And the employee tells me “no” — which is a first. He was
always glad to enter into a dialogue, to say something back to me, to justify
himself somehow. But here he says “no.” And the voice says to me:

— See? We told you so.
— Alright. Let’s try it a bit differently. What do I need to write so that he says
‘yes’?
— Write to him everything exactly as we told you. Tell him that you know he
is afraid you will question him about everything he did before, things he
never told you about; that you will ask questions again; that you will try to
find out what he’s been doing lately while he wasn’t working; that you will
judge him again, and so on. And tell him that he doesn’t want any of that.
Promise him that if you meet, you won’t ask anything, you won’t judge, you
won’t scold, you won’t bring anything up, but you will simply talk about the
perspective of the future — how he sees his future and how you see yours.

So, I write this message — almost verbatim, as the aliens instructed — and
the employee replies: “Fine, we can meet.” He asks me where, when, and
how, and mentions he has no money. Naturally, I offer to pay for his travel
because I am very far away; we are in different countries, different cities.
He will fly out, and he agrees. It was all very brief: just “yes?”, “yes.” I tell
him I’ll cover everything, just let me know when you can fly. He says: “Fine,
as soon as I know, I’ll give you the info.” And what next? I am in shock that
these aliens — this voice — really knew everything word-for-word: how he
would react, what he would respond to, what he was thinking, everything.
While I’m waiting for him to arrive — dealing with all the mundane logistics
— I’m no longer in a “heavy” dialogue with him like before. It’s all very short
and dry because the aliens told me not to write, say, or ask anything extra.
