Chapter 18. About Everything

Today is September 16, 2025. Once again, I am looking through my notes
to see the sequence of events — what I need to mention, perhaps repeat
for the book, or things I might iterate on. One of these things happened
even before my birthday. If we return to the theme of the struggle with
the beast, which is both outside and inside, everywhere. The System was
highlighting to me from all sides the question of why one should turn the
left cheek after being struck on the right. This commandment is found in
the Gospels of Matthew and Luke. “But I tell you, do not resist an evil person.
If anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to them the other cheek also” —
Matthew 5:39. “If someone slaps you on one cheek, turn to them the other also.
If someone takes your coat, do not withhold your shirt from them” — Luke 6:29.

I won’t quote various other mentions at length. I’ll briefly give my
commentary: you must never seek revenge, because if you do, you are
falling for a provocation; you are opening your heart to the devil. Even when
someone causes you pain, you must not only refrain from revenge, but you
shouldn’t even run away from it. You see, there is a very important point
here that emphasizes exactly what I faced in the situation with my employee.
What was my first desire? That I could simply fire the employee and the
problem would be gone. But here, as it says in the Bible, if an employee
does something bad, let him do bad, but you must not seek revenge,
and at the same time, you must not run away. “Turning the other cheek”
doesn’t mean you should intentionally allow the employee to steal even
more from you. It’s not about deliberately permitting that. It’s about not
running away from him because you are in the right. You are with faith in
God — the emphasis here is on faith. I began to remember my former self.
Lately, I have been experiencing everything I need to go through as the main
character of the book, in order to write these volumes. But that doesn’t mean I
am that kind of person. Long before “Alternative History”, I encountered things
I wrote about in my other books and various drafts, where my acquaintances
and friends were shocked; they knew that I saw they were lying and deceiving,
but I didn’t tell them. For example — and I’m inventing this example —
