Alexandr: You’ve noticed that about me?
Friend: Yes. The voice changes.
Alexandr: The face probably changes? The eyes change?
Friend: Well, I can’t say specifically; I wasn’t watching your face specifically
to see if it changes and so on.
Alexandr: But the voice changes?
Friend: Well, what I definitely understood was the voice, the intonation,
for example, the tone.
Alexandr: And the speech?
Friend: Well, it’s all of it together, yes.
Alexandr: Meaning I could even use different words, or no?
Friend: Probably, yes. I won’t claim it for certain, but it seems so. Usually,
for example, if one person is arguing and the other is kind, right? This
switching in people is usually gradual — for example, if a person has anger
or resentment, they still carry it with them. If they talk to one person and
then speak to another, their mood still carries over to the next person.
For instance, if they are in a bad state, they will talk to the second person
based on that bad state.
Alexandr: Well, let me add to that. So, it turns out that if a person was just
arguing with someone, then with everyone else they talk to in that same
moment, or a minute later, they will still remain in that state of anger; they
need time to get out of it.
Friend: Yes.
Alexandr: And likewise, if a person is, say, cheerful, they interact with
everyone cheerfully, regardless of whether it’s with family, at work, or even
with their enemies, because they are cheerful.
Friend: Yes.
Alexandr: But in my case, it turns out that I can speak harshly with one person,
and immediately be super kind and heartfelt with another.
Friend: Well, yes, as an example — it’s as if... and therefore, what conclusion
do I draw? Consequently, it’s as if these are two different people, let’s say.
Alexandr: Inside me.
Friend: Yes, and simultaneously — meaning this happens at the same moment
in time. One could assume that you walked away, for example, and calmed
down if you were angry, or if you were kind and then became angry later.
