And he is just in even deeper shock, because I can see that some kind of
faith has appeared in him. Previously, he was so closed off, fundamentally
such a deceitful person — someone who was all about the facade, who
denied everything, who would always deceive everyone. But here, he is just
flat-out shocked. I don’t know, maybe he didn’t tell me everything; maybe
he had some other knowledge, but he is just in such a state — a kind
of blissful, divine shock, can you imagine? During our meeting, he probably
said “thank you” and “I’m sorry” a thousand times. “Thank you,” “I’m sorry,
forgive me,” “I’m sorry,” “thank you” — this employee has never spoken to
me like that in his life. It’s a very curious story; something is happening.

And, of course, I notice about myself that even when various mini-incidents
occur across my different projects, I’ve started communicating differently
with people who have emergencies or who mess up. Now, I speak in such
a way that they start to feel like they are the ones being mean or rude, rather
than me. Before, I might have said, “Ai-yai-yai, you broke this,” and everyone
would say, “Oh, Alexandr, look how angry you are.” But now it’s like this:
“You broke it, but don’t worry, it can be fixed.” Even if the person starts
responding to me more rudely, they suddenly see that against my backdrop,
they are the villain, and they start apologizing to me on their own, saying:
“Alexandr, forgive me, please forgive me. It’s all my fault, I broke it all
myself, I forgot everything myself, everything, please forgive me.” I say: “It’s
alright, don’t worry, it’s fine. I only want to help so that you simply don’t
make these mistakes in the future.” And they say “Yes,” and start saying:
“I see how I don’t understand the first time, or even the tenth time, and again
— I hope I’ve learned my lesson now, forgive me, and thank you for even
putting up with me.” Can you imagine the way people are starting to talk to
me now? I think: “How is this possible?” Wow, how everything is changing;
it’s interesting. These are some of my very specific observations.
