In Christian teaching, especially in Orthodoxy and Catholicism, the Holy Spirit is One. He is the third Hypostasis of the One God in the Holy Trinity: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Not a multitude, but the One, eternal, omnipresent, the breath of life and the source of all holiness. He descends as a dove, as tongues of fire, as a quiet wind in the soul. There is no “multitude of holy spirits” as separate entities — there is One Spirit, manifesting infinitely in love, wisdom and grace.

Sometimes in the Book of Revelation it speaks of the “seven spirits of God” before the throne — but this is a symbol of the fullness and perfection of the One Holy Spirit (the number seven in Scripture signifies completeness, like the seven days of creation). These are the seven gifts: of wisdom, of understanding, of counsel, of strength, of knowledge, of piety, and of the fear of God. Not seven separate spirits, but the fullness of the One.

If, however, you are asking about the saints (people filled with the Spirit), then they are innumerable — thousands of canonized ones and millions of unknown ones, who have attained grace through humility and love. Holiness is the fruit of the One Spirit in many hearts.
