How did I build it? At first, of course, I simply started to repeat this figure, made even little sticks, because each side of the square and the triangle in it is equal. And I started gluing this figure together from little sticks, bamboo ones. And further on I came to a halt: what to do inside? What kind of innards should it have? And in general — this figure ought to be formed out of some geometric figures, or more precisely, from the regular polyhedra. I get in touch with my designer, I begin explaining all of this. And we look for this rhombicuboctahedron in my matrix, which is mentioned in the second volume of “Alternative History.” And we see that it does not fit anywhere into it. And here I say to the designer: “Take this cube of ours, multiply it, and let us turn it, like before: tilt it to the left, to the right, up, down, that is, in different directions, so that it turns into a star. And so, when we do this, now take it and inscribe it into the rhombicuboctahedron.” And we inscribe it, and everything works out completely, can you imagine! Here is how it is formed. But all of this, you understand, are puzzle pieces from different sides that I am gathering. All this then has to come together into one, and I still don’t know what the finale will be.
