Chapter 8. Family and Sun

And what happens to me next? Probably — since Big Alexander said it is permissible, and since the time has come, maybe I am not imagining it — for some Spirit to descend from above, I probably have to be there physically, and I have to have a girlfriend, and I am ready for this; that is, this is what I suppose. Big Alexander says: “Yes, yes, yes, and the main thing — don’t hurry.” And here a very interesting moment happens: he emphasizes certain criteria — what is acceptable and what isn’t. And when he emphasizes the criteria — that this girl has to be one who did not use prohibited substances, and not one with tattoos, “try to look for such a one, very few of them are left.” And my circle is not so large. And just imagine — by some mystical means it works out that I have an acquaintance, with whom we have known each other already for many years, and she fits this criterion. But her reaction to me, and mine to her — I would not say it is some kind of love, the way that is described anywhere; that is, it is something completely different. The feeling is that this person is inside your head, and you are inside hers, and the rest of the world doesn’t exist. I don’t know whether it is right to use the word “daze.” I wouldn’t say it is a daze — but it is as if you are very drunk, or everything is very foggy. And so I begin to communicate with my female friend. What is the most mystical thing? If I underscore it — her birthday is September 12th, the same as mine. And we feel this strange chemistry and connection. But all the same, naturally, we are by no means in a hurry, as Big Alexander also said.

And my female friend, of course, has always known that I cannot start a
relationship — so she has never considered me as a man, which is good. And here
I suddenly announce that I have these interesting events that I am going through
right now, which are entering the eleventh volume of the novel “Alternative
History,” and that I am looking for a bride. Now that’s amusing. And we start to
discuss all of this, and to communicate with her. And the first thing I begin to
feel: the loneliness inside me disappears. I am experiencing a crazy happiness —
as if I have ended up in the kindest film of the 1990s, some American one. The
way I always compare and give examples: it is like the film “It Takes Two,” as
if I am in that kind of atmosphere. And the music that steals my attention is
only super-kind — that is the first album of the band Angus & Julia Stone.
