And that’s how the novel ends? And that’s it — there will no longer be an Alexandr
Korol, and the novel will end. But the writer, Alexandr — he will remain. Only,
having finished writing this novel, he is no longer Alexandr Korol. And no
information, no Spirit, and nothing that was connected specifically with
“Alternative History” — none of this will be there anymore, no connection with
it. I, as the author of this novel, lived through the life of this Alexandr Korol — like
the game of Jumanji that I couldn’t stop. And so this whole story has come to an
end — and that’s it — Alexandr Korol leaves. And I, then, remain as an ordinary
person. Maybe I’ll go take up boxing. Maybe I’ll open myself a little restaurant.
Maybe — since the whole life will be new, from a blank slate — I really will start a
family. And maybe I’ll write books under a pseudonym — some Marya Tsarevna,
figuratively speaking. Naturally, I wouldn’t call myself that. And my face and my
name will no longer appear anywhere. I don’t know.
And you know what’s a shock? I’ve been writing this novel from 2010 to this very
day. Right now it’s already the night of March 10, 2026. And here I remember what
God told me at the very beginning, in the first volume, when I went off into that
meditation to the music “Beautiful Lie” by the artist YOAV. And what did he show
me? He showed me that I am somewhere alone, and everyone is talking about me.
Maybe this is what will happen right now — I will disappear, and everyone will
be talking about me. And here I remember another moment. How a year ago Big
Alexander was telling me that I needed to manage to open up businesses for all
my friends, some kind of projects, so that later, when I left, all of it would exist
on its own and support everything of mine. And I got scared back then — and I
was finishing writing the book about death back then. And I asked him whether I
would die, and he said that I would simply leave. And to the question of whether
I would be able to come back, he answered that not to everyone — but maybe I
could come over for tea with him, or with someone else. And I was taking this
literally. But maybe it’s a bit different. After all, if I am now leaving this life of the
Alexandr Korol personality, and I am burning all the bridges and connections,
and a new life is starting from scratch — I cannot, by any means, carry the old over
into the new, otherwise nothing will work, you understand? And probably for this
reason I won’t be able to contact anyone. And, as Big Alexander supposed, maybe
I’ll be able to have tea with him — but I will already be a different personality.
So that’s how it is.
