because they want to calculate something all the way to the grave already, to
analyse whether this Olya suits them or whether this Oleg suits them. And in the
end nothing gets built.

Or even if they suddenly do start building, it likewise collapses because of this
noise and mind. Whereas before, at 20, you approached this more lightly. That is,
you kind of feel the feelings, and the rest — however it comes together, so it comes
together. And this shut-in-ness wasn’t there then. And so the point is that from
such shut-in-ness, soul-searching, self-analysis, analysis of others, appraisal of
other people with age, it already, even before you meet a person, already pushes
away all the people in your life. But this example isn’t about relationships. That is,
this is a good example — I’ve presented it through the example of relationships —
but the point here is also about a matter, about work.

That before, a person — if, at 20 years old, right, they’d said to me, figuratively
speaking: “Alexandr, we want to publish a book for you,” I’d have said: “Yes,
wonderful!” But naively, I’d have said: “Yes, wonderful,” and that’s it. It simply
responded inside — yes, let’s do it. And let’s suppose that now I’m a closed
and shut-in person, like many are now, at 35. And suddenly they tell me: “We
want to publish a book for you.” And I say: “A book? And what will you get out
of it? And why do you need it? And what will I get out of it? And what kind of
book? And what if it doesn’t sell? And how much will it cost? And how much
investment? And do you need my rights or not? And what kind of contract?
And for how long?” And everything’s already kind of so heavy that when you’re
like this, they already won’t even come to you with an offer to publish a book.
This is purely in theory, the way I’ve shown it to you. So, well, if I have such
an attitude, that’s why offers won’t even come to me, when you’re so heavy.
You understand?

And now an even more interesting moment. And so I’m telling a person all of
this, and he says that back then, at twenty, everything seemed to work out for
him, and I confirm:

— Yes, it’s a matter of the mind.
