before the throne, in white robes, with palm branches. These are the ones who
came out of the great tribulation and washed their robes in the blood of the Lamb.
They serve God day and night, and God will comfort them forever.
This is a time of the protection of God’s people amid the mounting chaos.
During the opening of the 7th seal
(Revelation 8:1)
When the Lamb opens the seventh seal — there is silence in heaven for about half an hour.
After all the storms, cries, and upheavals — a sudden, solemn silence. Many interpret
this as “the lull before the storm,” or the moment when the heavens attend to the prayers
of the saints before the next judgments. This is not “nothing,” but a tense anticipation.

The 7th seal opens the next series of judgments — the seven trumpets. Immediately
after the silence:
• Seven angels receive seven trumpets.
• Another angel with a censer (with the prayers of the saints) casts fire upon the
earth — thunders, lightnings, an earthquake.
• Then the trumpets begin to sound: hail with fire, the fall of a “mountain” into
the sea, the poisoning of the waters, the darkening of the heavenly bodies,
and so on — ever more intense judgments.
In the end, the 7th seal is a transition: it doesn’t end the story, but sets off the trumpet
judgments, which lead further towards the bowls of wrath and the culmination —
the return of Christ.
