There it says that Matthew is the man among the four creatures. And it says that his meaning is “the human nature of Christ, his incarnation.” But again — what is that? Is it the material world or what? So which of these worlds does that correspond to? It turns out we now have a key — that the worlds are sky, earth, underworld, death — and now we must always align everything with that. And then, if you keep reading Wikipedia, it says there is the lion — that is Mark — and it says his meaning is “the activity, dominion, and royal authority of Christ the King, his Resurrection from the dead” — again, maybe since it’s about resurrection from the dead, then maybe it’s connected with death, maybe the lion belongs to death? But again, we shouldn’t rush, but you see — you can think this way. So for now, we’ll just note that. Then, next, there’s the ox — Luke — and it says his meaning is “the priestly and sacrificial dignity of Christ, his crucifixion sacrifice” — again, sacrifice. So maybe that relates to death? Or maybe it relates to the Spirit of Justice, to the underworld? It’s unclear. Now further, there’s the eagle — John. It says this is “the gift of the Holy Spirit hovering over the Church, and also the Ascension of the Lord” — so maybe the eagle relates to death, you see? After all, Spirit is something non-earthly, hovering — do you understand? And now we have to figure this all out.
