Well, and of course, the most interesting and curious thing — since we are now touching on Christianity — is the Second Coming. I came across an article on the internet about the “Second Coming.”
“The Second Coming of the Lord is the anticipated Coming of the Lord Jesus Christ from Heaven to Earth in Divine glory and power, which, according to God’s promise, is to occur at the end of times.
What is known about the Second Coming from Holy Scripture? The Second Coming will take place at the end of world history, when the Lord Jesus Christ returns in glory with angels to judge humanity. In the Old Testament, the term “the day of the Lord” is used to refer to this event, and the apostles also use this expression. In the New Testament writings, the Second Coming is also called “the day of visitation,” “the day of judgment,” “the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment from God.””

It will be evident to all people and angels. The Lord will return to Earth in the same way He ascended into Heaven — that is, in a human body. This event will be preceded by the worldwide preaching of the Gospel, the reign of the Antichrist, various great wars, famine, deadly diseases, and other calamities. However, the result of the Gospel preaching — faith in Christ — by that time will be practically negligible. Because of the increase of lawlessness, the love of many people will grow cold toward one another; false prophets will appear, claiming to be Christ, “and will deceive many.” In New Testament texts, this event is referred to as the “appearance” or “coming” of Jesus Christ.
The apostles in their epistles pay special attention to the times that will precede the Second Coming. The Apostle Paul refers to them as the “last times” and the “last days.” He testifies that in those days there will be a falling away from the Christian faith, “for men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, traitors, heady, high-minded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God, having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof.” An atmosphere filled with hypocritical piety, deceit, and deceptive appearances will become favorable for the appearance in the world of the “man of sin, the son of perdition,” whose “coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders.”
