in an ideal virtual reality — “Heaven,” and give them eternal life in bliss. Tipler says
outright: this is precisely the physical resurrection of the dead spoken of in the Bible.

The Omega Point = God. This final singularity possesses all the attributes of God:
Omnipotence (infinite power), Omniscience (knows everything that was and will be),
Omnipresence (exists at the end of all world lines). It exists in the future, but already
now “attracts” us towards itself, as with Teilhard.

Why Tipler considers this real physics and not fantasy

He relies on:
• Quantum mechanics (consciousness as observer, the collapse of the wave function).
• The Bekenstein and Hawking theorems (the bounds of information).
• The second law of thermodynamics.
• The absence of event horizons in the final singularity (this is Tipler’s key
mathematical result).

He even asserts that the theory is falsifiable — if evidence of an open Universe or of event
horizons is found, the theory will collapse.

When I was watching this program with Morgan Freeman, and when I was
properly typing interesting questions into all sorts of artificial-intelligence
chatbots on the theme of the eighth day, on the theme of who the observer is,
what immortality is, what’s beyond the limits of time, who the God of time is —
because this is the finale of the eleventh volume… That is, everything is heading
towards this: I’m becoming this observer, becoming this eighth day, and must
get there. And now everything is approaching this. And it’s so interesting that
in this program with Morgan Freeman, he says there at the end that the gods in
all the mythological accounts envied people, because people are mortal while
they are immortal. And I recalled that the mystic-old-man told me that in the
future — I don’t remember what year, 2028 or 2032 — but in the future, when I
reach that, achieve what I want, I’ll be upset. I believe that this is what he meant:
I’ll kind of become the one I’ll become, the one I wanted to be, and what I wanted
will come about, but it will no longer be that human life where there’s time.
