ran away from everyone. And so it’s as if she likewise runs from her fate, from
her purpose, from her mission, doesn’t want any of it. And she still holds her
line. And I tell her as it is: “Listen, Sima, all right, no question. But you have to
understand…” She says: “Why an ultimatum? Why isn’t there a third option?”
And I’ve noticed that all people of the mind and egoists — I’ll send regards now
to “Valery Meladze” — forever say: “And why isn’t there a third option?” They
all want a third option. But there really isn’t a third option. Well, you can’t, you
understand, lead a healthy way of life and an unhealthy way of life at the same
time. That is, if you’re already leading an unhealthy way of life, even a little, then
it’s already unhealthy. You can’t mix it all up like that. That’s precisely what’s going
on in the world now: chaos, the mixing of everything, and everyone refers to this
as being good. Serafima says the same, and in general, I’ve noticed, sinful people
do this: they say that they’re fighting for their freedom. I say: “What freedom?
Just look at yourselves, you grubby lot. Can you imagine where freedom has
led you? Freedom is from the devil. This freedom is a step into the darkness.
Discipline is what matters, discipline — and not slacking.” And what’s most
interesting: let any other little devil come up to them and propose something
mischievous — to run away from their parents, run away from their loans, run
away from their partner in a relationship, do something bad, steal something —
and such dark people agree right away and find the time for it. But the moment
this sinful person suddenly stands face to face before a bright one, and the bright
person says: “And can you now go and read a book, go to the library, enroll in
studies?” — the person answers: “These are restrictions, this is pressure, these
are ultimatums, this is a deprivation of freedom.” You see how interesting? Well,
and the point is that I see: some devil moved into Serafima long ago and governs
her, on account of which she’s naturally under the influence of these forces.
And how does it turn out? What she feels and thinks, she considers her own
thoughts and feelings, whereas in reality these are the thoughts and feelings of
that devil who lives in her. I needed to… She also put it this way, she says: “Do you
understand that if I agree, it’s like dying.” I answer: “Yes. That’s how it is. Only it’s
not you who’ll die, but that devilry inside you. Whereas you, on the contrary, will
be freed, and a beautiful life will begin.” And she says: “No, I’m afraid, I can’t.”
Can you imagine?
