On the left is the matrix. I made this with a designer a long time ago, back when we wanted to create a sphere made of triangles. On the right is the sphere I saw yesterday in the series “Smallville,” and they are practically identical. But the question is how they are formed, what they really are, how they are all interconnected, and how to link it all together. Then I had a revelation and a shock. I realized that the cube I’ve been rotating — it’s like all its vertices, meaning all these points where the triangles intersect on that sphere — are the vertices, the corners of the cubes. The cube spins like a hedgehog, turning in different directions by various degrees, and it forms exactly this sphere. It feels like I haven’t fully rotated it yet. At first, when I was exploring the dodecahedron, I rotated my cube along the dodecahedron’s pentagrams, and it unfolded like a hedgehog. Then I rotated it like a stellated octahedron — these Merkabas — nesting cubes within cubes. Both sets of trajectories are correct. These are different paths that the Spirit, the system, highlights for me, so I should take all of them into account.
And then what? When I look at this sphere made of triangles, maybe I even need to add more triangles inside, for example. But what I noticed in it is that when I start rotating this sphere of triangles, from one side I see a pentagon, and from the other side I see a hexagon.
