people to the maximum, so that they’d be little fools, wouldn’t understand
anything, wouldn’t see, wouldn’t hear. And there’s some one-third of the
population that doesn’t yield to this influence, that tries not to yield, that is able
not to yield to this influence. That’s why they are special. And all the chance, the
hope, rests on them.

Then he speaks specifically about the writer Philip K. Dick:

it, if you are a writer or an artist, a creative person, please, make films about this,
write books about it, paint pictures, write songs, please. But in real life, as in the
film “The Matrix,” you mustn’t cry out to anyone in the matrix, in the system, that
you’re Neo. That is, you’re Mr. Anderson, the one who helps his neighbour take
out the rubbish. If you’re going to say that you’re not Mr. Anderson but that you’re
Neo, then it will all end very badly. And Big Alexander again refers to this instinct
of self-preservation, that people mustn’t get above themselves, that they must be
careful, cautious and keep watch. But again, why does he behave this way? And
even this film, it would seem the film is about absolutely everything, and here he
goes and talks about some kind of safety. Because for Big Alexander the main, the
fundamental task is this — safety. That’s why he hides me. And he isn’t the only
one. That is, it may seem that I’m in plain sight and so forth, but in fact it isn’t so.
